At-Home Timed Intercourse

)

Timed intercourse involves couples having sex during the woman’s most fertile period to enhance the chances of conception. By tracking the woman’s ovulation, using our at-home kit, you can time intercourse to coincide with this window. It’s a natural and less invasive method done at home, providing privacy and intimacy while maximizing the chance of fertilization.

Menstrual Cycle

The regular menstrual cycle is a carefully coordinated process involving both stimulating and inhibiting factors that lead to the release of a single mature egg from a large pool of primordial eggs. This process is regulated by various factors, including hormones, as well as other substances called paracrine and autocrine factors, which are still being studied and understood by scientists.

Ovulation

Checking when someone ovulates is crucial for planning when to have intercourse to increase the chance of getting pregnant, especially for those who are struggling to conceive. Those with irregular periods or really painful periods should be checked to see if they’re ovulating normally (if not, it might explain their symptoms).

Timing Intercourse

In each menstrual cycle, the time when someone is most likely to get pregnant lasts about six days. This includes the five days leading up to when they ovulate, as well as the day they ovulate. This period doesn’t change as someone gets older, but it can be different for each person. The best chance of getting pregnant happens when a couple has sex one or two days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation.

Mate’s Timed Intercourse Program

In order to optimize every patient’s chances of getting pregnant at each stage of their journey, Mate uses the patient’s own hormone levels to advise when they will ovulate. If you enroll in Mate’s Timed Intercourse program, we will order two or three sets of labs to your preferred laboratory location. On day eight of your cycle, you will have estrogen, progesterone, and luteinizing hormone drawn; the results of this blood draw will reflect what is happening in your ovaries. Usually with two and three blood draws in the first part of the cycle, Mate’s program will advise exactly when to perform timed intercourse for the greatest chances of achieving pregnancy. Mate will communicate with you through our platform and each month you may have a touchpoint meeting with a clinician.

Mate’s Ovulation Induction + Timed Intercourse Program

We also offer an ovulation induction program on top of timed intercourse, where your clinician will prescribe a medication to help you ovulate. This will either be called letrozole or clomiphene citrate. These medications are given early in your cycle for five days. In order to optimize every patient’s chances of getting pregnant at each stage of their journey, Mate uses the patient’s own hormone levels to advise when they will ovulate. On day twelve of your cycle, you will have estrogen, progesterone, and luteinizing hormone drawn; the results of this blood draw will reflect what is happening in your ovaries.
